Jane Asher Apple, Cinnamon & Toffee Crumble Pie
Ingredients:
1 packet of Jane Asher Everyday Shortcrust pastry
1 packet of Jane Asher Crumble mix
2 teaspoons of cinnamon
1 tin of apple fruit pie filling
50g of chopped toffee pieces (these can be put into a food processor)
30g oats
METHOD
Please note that cooking appliances may vary. These instructions are given only as a guide.
Preheat oven to 200 °C (180°C for fan assisted ovens) /400°F/ Gas Mark 6.
- Add 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the Shortcrust pastry dry mix then make up to instructions on back of pack.
- Line a tart or round loose bottomed cake tin with the pastry, place some greaseproof paper in the centre and add baking bean or rice. Bake blind for 25 minutes. Then remove baking beans and greaseproof.
- Allow to cool slightly.
- Fill the pastry case with the apple pie filling.
- For the crumble - Mix together the chopped toffee, oats and cinnamon, top the apple covering it completely.
- Bake in the oven for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
Serve with hot cream custard or cold ice cream
