Recipe of the Month for June 2005


THAT’S THE WAY THE COOKIE CRUMBLES………

Use a Jane Asher cookie mix to make a different dessert

YOU WILL NEED

Approximately 400g prepared fruit, fresh, frozen or canned
1 x Jane Asher Great to Bake Triple Chocolate Cookie or Beanie Cookie Mix
50g softened butter
30-45 mls water

METHOD
Please note that cooking appliances vary. These instructions are given as a guide.

1. Pre-heat oven to 220ºC/200ºC Fan oven/Gas Mark 7
2. Place the fruit into an oven proof dish
3. Place the cookie mix into a mixing bowl and add the softened butter. Mix in with the back of a spoon.
4. Add 30-45 mls water to make a soft but not sticky dough.
5. Break small pieces of the cookie dough off and place over the fruit in the dish, covering as much of the fruit as possible.
6. Bake in the pre-heated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Serve hot with cream or custard

Some suggested combinations
Triple chocolate cookie mix with pears, raspberries or strawberries
Beanie cookie mix with apples, apples and blackcurrant

The beans included in the beanie cookie mix are not required for this recipe…..so its up to you what you do with them……save them for next time you make Beanie Cookies and have double the amount, use them to decorate a birthday or Fairy Cakes…………or simply eat them!!
